ViyahVogue is a peer-to-peer South Asian occasion wear rental marketplace. While ViyahVogue is in its early, pre-launch phase and has not yet been incorporated as a limited company, the data controller responsible for your personal data is Kitty Goodwin and Sim Kaur, trading as ViyahVogue.

As part of the handover process, borrowers are required to provide a photo of a valid ID document. This is used solely to verify identity at the point of collection.
ID photos are sent directly to operations@viyahvogue.com via an automated workflow. They are not stored within the platform, the Handover App, or any database. They exist only within our operations email inbox.
ID photos are retained only as long as necessary for safety and dispute purposes, and are deleted in line with our data retention practices described in Section 7.
Handover records, including inventory checklists, condition notes and confirmation of evidence saved (such as photos and video), are stored securely and used solely for the purpose of resolving disputes between members.

We may disclose personal data where required by law, to comply with a legal obligation, or to protect the rights, property or safety of ViyahVogue, our members, or the public.
Our website and associated systems are hosted in the United Kingdom via SiteGround. Operational data is stored in Google Sheets and Google Apps Script, both provided by Google. Payment data is processed and stored by Stripe.
Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including any legal, accounting or reporting requirements.
If you request deletion of your account and have not completed any financial transactions on the platform, we will delete your personal data within 90 days of your request.
If you have completed financial transactions on the platform, we are required to retain certain data for up to 1 year following your request, in order to comply with financial crime, anti-money laundering and tax reporting regulations. After this period, your data will be deleted in line with our standard retention practices.

We use MailerLite to send marketing emails to members who have opted in, including waitlist communications. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by contacting us directly.
ViyahVogue is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. Material changes will be communicated by email or via a notice on the platform. The ‘last updated’ date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
