How to receive your earnings

Why you need to set up Stripe

Stripe is a secure payments platform used by millions of businesses worldwide. It is how we send your rental earnings directly to your bank account. Without completing this step, your listings will be visible on the site but you won’t be able to receive any payments from bookings.

Stripe will ask for some personal information including your name, address and bank details. This is a legal requirement known as Know Your Customer (KYC) – all regulated payment providers are required to verify the identity of anyone receiving money through their platform.

It is standard practice, and your information is stored securely by Stripe in line with UK financial regulations. ViyahVogue never sees or stores your bank details.

Step 1

Go to your Stripe Connect page

You can also find it by navigating to My Listings or Orders in the menu and looking for My Payouts.

You’ll see a prompt to connect your account. Click the button to begin.

Step 2

Verify your phone number

Stripe will ask for your phone number and send a verification code to it straight away. Enter the code to continue.

This is Stripe’s own security requirement – not something ViyahVogue requests or has access to. Make sure you have your phone to hand before you start.

Step 3

Tell us about your business

The next screen is titled “Tell us about your business.” Don’t be put off by the wording – this applies to individual lenders too, not just businesses.

Unless you are already operating as a registered company, select Individual / Sole trader. This is the right option for the vast majority of lenders on ViyahVogue.

Step 4

Verify your personal details

Stripe will ask for your personal information as part of their identity verification process. You’ll be asked for:

Your full legal name
Your date of birth
Your home address

This information is collected and stored securely by Stripe, not ViyahVogue. We never see your bank details.

Step 5

Business details

Stripe will ask for your website or a product description. You do not need a website – click “Don’t have a website? Add product description instead” and enter a simple description of what you’re going to do.

For example: Renting occasion wear to borrowers through ViyahVogue.

Step 6

Add your bank account

This is where you enter the bank account you want your earnings paid into. You’ll need:

Sort code
Account number

The currency and country will already be set to GBP and United Kingdom. Leave these as they are.

Step 7

Review and submit

Stripe will show you a summary of everything you’ve entered. Check your details are correct and hit Submit. Once done, you’ll be redirected back to ViyahVogue and your account will be connected.

Once you’re connected

You’ll see a confirmation that your account is ready to accept payments. From here you can access your Stripe Express Dashboard to view your earnings.

You can return to this page at any time via Menu > My Payouts. From there you’ll find a link to your Stripe Express Dashboard where you can track payments and see your payout history.

When will I get paid?

Payouts are processed on a monthly basis. Once a rental is complete and confirmed, your earnings will be transferred to your bank account in the next monthly payout cycle.
